Once Upon a Time (2011) -1×4- The Price of Gold

I liked this episode well enough. It's the weakest so far, but I'm attributing that more to the weakness of Cinderella and her Prince as compared to Snow and Charming. They featured heavily enough that, as others have pointed out, was continually pulled out of the fairy tale by how weak of an actor the Thomas character was. He was seriously bad.

I do also wish that they had found some other way to relate the two baby story lines as it was just completely implausible that that sort of contract would hold any weight in our world. There was just absolutely no way and the ease with which the entire thing was resolved kind of made Ashley's earlier urgency and desperation just seem...weak and pointless which is a shame.

Also, what's this talk of Emma being able to leave? Didn't she already try once and end up being forced off the road by a wolf and into the town sign, knocked unconscious, and then thrown in jail?

One more thing - can anyone who DVR'ed the show tell me if the horse (or unicorn) figurines we briefly saw hanging the pawn shop are the same ones that were on the mobile hanging above baby Emma's bed in the castle scenes. If they are, I wonder if they'll be used in future episodes as a flashback trigger or something.
