Coming Soon : Will Good Christian Bitches Be The Next Big Hit ?

Darren Starr creator of Sex And The City, 90210, and Melrose Place is certainly no stranger to making hit television shows. Darren may now have another potential hit on his hands with Good Christian Bitches, a new dramedy he's producing with Steel Magnolias and First Wives Club writer Robert Harling. Based on the book of the same name by author Kim Gatlin, Good Christian Bitches  is a story about

Amanda Vaughn, a recently divorced mother of two who, to get a fresh start, moves back to the affluent Dallas neighborhood where she grew up. There she finds herself in the whirling midst of salacious gossip, Botox, and fraud".

Bitches is currently in a hot bidding war between ABC, NBC, and CBS  and with Desperate Housewives amd The Housewives franchise at Bravo waning I think this could be the next guilty pleasure.

New Video : Jazmine Sullivan Holding You Down

Over  the weekend Jazmine dropped the remix with Mary and Swizz, and now comes the visual to her single from her forthcoming album enjoy.

New Music: Jo Jo In The Dark

The wait is over. Four years after the release of her sophomore album The High Road, JoJo makes her much-awaited return to music. Not even label drama can stop the 19-year-old songstress from shining bright on “In the Dark,” the first offering from her mixtape Can’t Take That Away From Me, premiering September 7 exclusively on Rap-Up.com.

“I think ‘In the Dark’ is different than anything people have heard from me before,” JoJo says of the song, which was produced by Jordan Gatsby and co-written by JoJo and Gatsby. “It’s a very sensual record and there’s an undertone of sadness to it.”

The track’s experimental sound does not necessarily reflect the material on her upcoming third studio album All I Want Is Everything. Instead, it’s a thank you to her loyal fans who’ve stuck by her throughout the years.

Wow, it's very unexpected, different and good!:o very experimental. it's definitely a grower and glad to see this showing her more mature side. i still can't believe she's so grown up now but only 19 after all these years.

Desperate Housewives Season 7 Promo

Keeping in line with the new promo pic and The Wild West theme this season comes the hot new promo for season 7. I really love that it appears that Vanessa is going to be front and center causing a whole lot of trouble on Wisteria Lane can't wait.

Emmy 2010 Winners

This years Emmys are over and it was an enjoyable show, thanks in large part to Jimmy Fallon. Jimmy was like a kid in a candy store hosting which made for a very authentic funny show. Best bits were the opening and his tribute to the fallen shows.

As for the winners I'm heartbroken that Lost and Friday Night Lights got no love, but was beyond excited for Glee, Modern Family, and Breaking winning in the major categories .

Check out the winners and the opening skit below and the musical tribute below

First Peek. : Desperate Housewives New Promo Pic

Desperate Housewives has always been good at giving great promo and the new season continues with that tradition. With the setting recreating The Wild West it's very fitting that there is a new sheriff in Wisteria Lane, and Vanessa Williams is it.

Anna Paquin and Kristen Bell Join Scream 4

Looks like Sookie Stackhouse and Veronica Mars will be facing off with Mr Ghost Mask.

True Blood star Anna Paquin and Veronica Mars star Kristen Bell are the latest additions to Scream 4, which is currently filming in Ann Arbor Michigan according to USA Today.

No character details have been revealed yet , but I'm guessing one of the ladies may be the opening  victim which has become a staple of the Scream films. Scream 4 opens in theaters April 2011.

Piranha 3D Gets A Sequel

Piranha 3D was a movie i enjoyed immensely this past weekend, it really was a genuine throwback to the eighties with some of the goriest sequences that I've ever witnessed on film. Well today comes news that Dimension Films has given the greenlight to move ahead with a sequel. Producer Mark Canton and Dimension is very pleased with the word of mouth that the film has received from audiences and critics, and with the movie costing hardly anything to make a sequel seems like a no brainer.

The film has also garnered a lot of attention via a Funny or Die video with stars of the movie asking The Acedemy to nominate the film for Best Picture at the Oscars. Check out the video and check out Piranha in theaters now.

Bryan Singer Talks X-Men First Class

After hearing nothing but numerous casting updates about X-Men First Class, some major details about the film have finally been made known by Bryan Singer. Singer, who is producer of the film and was responsible for X-Men 1 and 2 spoke with AICN and spilled about what viewers can expect..

"The film takes place in the 1960's. John F Kennedy is the President of the United States. Martin Luther King and Malcolm X are on TV doing marches. There is a spirit of a hopeful future that was prevalent in that time. We will see how Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr met - and how they dreamt of a future with Mutant & Human kind.

They're going to be in their late twenties. Xavier will not be in his wheelchair to begin the film - but we will see how he wound up in a wheelchair. We're going to see Professor X when he still had hair. We'll see McAvoy and Fassbender's Magneto formulate what it is they are attempting by creating the X-MEN.

With January Jones and Kevin Bacon playing Emma Frost and Sebastian Shaw, as speculated, we'll be getting the "Hellfire Club". AICN commented that the "Hellfire Club" has always felt like something that it would be wrong to modernize, as it felt as though it were something specific to the swinging Hefner era of the 60s... and Bryan said"that's exactly why they're making use of the HELLFIRE CLUB... the dress and the costumes associated with that glorious period of the X-MEN... belong in the 60s."

"Filming will begin with Xavier at Oxford University in the 60s. And Bryan is excited that the film is going to have a much more international feel than the prior X-MEN movies. They'll be shooting in England & the United States - and they'll be representing other locales around the globe as well, but would only tell me that Russia (aka The Soviet Union... CCCP) will be amongst them. He doesn't want to show all the cards just yet. But the International flavor will give the film a more James Bond vibe... I get the idea that this is going to be something quite special."

The Vampire Diaries' Season 2 Trailer: All About Katherine

The Vampire Diaries kicks off season 2 in three weeks, which means it's almost time for more hot Stefan and Damon action. Now there's a new trailer for the show that tells us a lot about what's going to happen, and it's all about Katherine.

She's making out with Damon and Stefan, attacking Elena's friends and causing some serious drama. And I have to admit that I think Nina Dobrev is a lot better as Katherine than Elena.

Can't wait for this show to return the first season was insanely good and that finale surely did not suck ( He He )

New Music : Cee-Lo "Fuck You"

Fuck you is the new single from Cee-Lo's forthcoming album LadyKilller.

The Real Housewives Of Atlanta First Look At The New Season.

The Real Housewives Of Atlanta will be back gracing television screens on October 4th but expect some big changes.

Lisa Wu is out, ( not completely but will only make occasional guest appearances). And two new Housewives are in: Cynthia Bailey and Phaedra Parks.

Here is a brief bio on both ladies :

Cynthia Bailey: She’s a model who was born in Alabama, has appeared on the cover of Essence magazine, and has a 10-year-old daughter, Noelle. You might remember her from a brief guest role on The Cosby Show (she played a character named Sheniquah Watkins) or her spot as Roxanne opposite Sandra Bernhard in the musical comedy Without You I’m Nothing. This season on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, the independent woman will grapple with a marriage ultimatum from her boyfriend of three years, Peter Thomas, and deepen her bond with NeNe.

Phaedra Parks: This friend of Dwight and Kandi’s is an entertainment lawyer—specifically, the managing partner of an Atlanta-based boutique firm that works with entertainers and athletes. She’s a self-proclaimed “Southern Belle,” and does charity, which is a hallmark of the Housewives franchise. Her big storyline this season? She’s married to a younger man, Apollo, who went to prison for a “white collar crime,” and the ladies love to gossip about that. And surprise: Phaedra’s pregnant! Much of her time will be consumed with planning a baby shower. Also worth noting: Phaedra is from the same hometown as spitfire NeNe. Here’s hoping for a little from-the-archives drama between the pair!
If thats not enough to get you tuning in here is a look at the new season.

Idris Elba Is The New Alex Cross

Idris Elba has signed on to star in Cross, the latest installment based on James Patterson’s series of novels centered around the adventures of forensic psychologist Dr. Alex Cross.  The character was previously played on screen by Morgan Freeman in 1997’s Kiss the Girls and 2001’s Along Came A Spider.  According to Deadline, David Twohy (The Chronicles of Riddick) will direct — he is currently doing a rewrite on Kerry Williamson’s script.
Elba will next be seen on the big screen in the heist film Takers starting August 27th; on the small screen, Elba stars as the titular character at the center UK-based Luther, and lend his services to the cancer comedy The Big C in a multi-episode arc.
Here is the official synopsis :
Alex Cross was a rising star in the Washington, DC, Police Department when an unknown shooter gunned down his wife, Maria, in front of him. The killer was never found, and the case turned cold, filed among the unsolved drive-bys in D.C.’s rough neighborhoods.
Years later, still haunted by his wife’s death, Cross is making a bold move in his life. Now a free agent from the police and the FBI, he’s set up practice as a psychologist once again. His life with Nana Mama, Damon, Jannie, and little Alex is finally getting in order. He even has a chance at a new love.
Then Cross’s former partner, John Sampson, calls in a favor. He is tracking a serial rapist in Georgetown, one whose brutal modus operandi recalls a case Sampson and Cross worked together years earlier. When the case reveals a connection to Maria’s death, Cross latches on for the most urgent and terrifying ride of his life

Bob Marley Bio Pic In The Works

Jenny Ash, the UK director who has received an Emmy nomination for her work on the documentary miniseries America – The Story of Us, is developing a biopic on the life of legendary reggae artist Bob Marley.

Deadline reports that the “feature will concentrate on the year Marley spent living in London in 1977. This was a crucial year for Marley. He’d fled Jamaica after an attempt was made on his life; the year ended with him sustaining a soccer injury which eventually triggered full-blown cancer.”  Ash, whose two-hour segment of the 12-part America miniseries  covered slavery and the Civil War, also sees the movie as a love triangle between Marley, his wife Rita and Jamaican beauty queen Cindy Breakspeare, whom Ash has spent time with in Jamaica.  I presume the denouement of that story won’t be about college students who love Marley because he shared their love of getting high.

Unfortunately, the filmmakers don’t yet have the rights to Marley’s songs.  Planned biopics of Janis Joplin and Marvin Gaye have also hit snags in trying to get music rights.  Those are kind of necessary, although I would find it hilarious if someone made a biopic of a musician and didn’t use any of their music.
Deadline adds that there have been two previous attempts at biopics based on Marley’s life.  The first was actually based on the autobiography of Rita Marley, No Woman No Cry: My Life With Bob MarleyLauryn Hill, who is Marley’s daughter in law, was set to play Rita.  Hill was also going to play Rita in a biopic based on Timothy White’s 1991 biography of Marley, Catch a FireHowever, that film fell apart after director Ron Shelton (Hollywood Homicide), and his replacement George Armitage (The Big Bounce), both left the project.

With the other attempts at bringing the story of Bob Marley to the big screen, i wonder if this one will prove successful and most importantly who will play the title character : Lenny Kravitz perhaps ?

Coming Soon : Black Swan

The trailer for Darren Aronofsky’s Black Swan has gone online and it is wonderfully terrifying.  After the uplifting tragedies of The Fountain and The Wrestler, it looks like Aronofsky is returning to the hardcore psychological horror he explored in Pi and Requiem for a Dream.  I have very high expectations for Black Swan and this trailer makes it look like Aronofsky is easily going to exceed them

Coming Soon : My Soul To Take

Before Wes Craven returned to the Scream franchise to direct , he assembled the likewise teen-centric My Soul to Take, his first feature since 2005’s Red Eye.  Universal has released the first trailer, and it works as a nice atmospheric tease for the horror film, centered around the legend of a serial killer who swore to murder the seven children born the night he died — “Now, 16 years later, people are disappearing again.”  Max Thieriot, John Magaro, Emily Meade, Nick Lashaway, and Denzel Whitaker star.

My Soul to Take hits theaters on October 8th.
