More than 400 miles away in the suburban west Texas town of Midland, he's "Robert," living a second life with his sweet, naive girlfriend, LINDSAY (Eloise Mumford, "Mercy," "Law & Order: SVU"). In Midland, he plays the perfect boyfriend while secretly bilking local investors of their savings. In Houston, he's a devoted husband, charming Cat and her family to cement his position in the rich family business he aims to clean out. Bob has lived both lives successfully for years without arousing any suspicions...so far. While one brother-in-law, DREW (Bryce Johnson, "Popular," "The Mentalist"), admires Bob, his other brother-in-law, TRAMMELL (Mark Deklin, "Nip/Tuck," "Desperate Housewives"), is suspicious of his motives. Bob begins to fear his secret lives may unravel. Ian Anthony Dale ("Daybreak") and Emmy winner Zeljko Ivanek ("Damages") also star in the ensemble drama. "The Event" is a production of Universal Media Studios and Steve Stark Productions. Stark ("Medium," "Facing Kate") serves as executive producer, Nick Wauters ("The 4400," "Eureka") is creator/co-executive producer and Jeffrey Reiner ("Friday Night Lights," "Trauma") is the director/executive producer; Evan Katz ("24") also is an executive producer.

Rihanna Sank My Battleship

Rihanna will make her film debut alongside Alexander Skarsgard  and Taylor Kitsch  in director Peter Berg’s feature-length adaptation of the classic Hasbro game Battleship.  The basic premise centers on a battle over land, sea, and sky against a “superior” alien force.  According to Variety, Kitsch will play a Naval officer with Skarsgard cast as his older brother; no word yet on what role Rihanna has signed on for.

Berg has already confirmed that, unlike several other summer blockbusters set to come out in 2012, Battleship will not be in 3D ( Thank God ).  The film will instead focus on classic naval warfare and — as Hasbro CEO and producer Brian Goldner told MTV a while back — telling a “unique story.”  Of course, this doesn’t explicitly rule out a conversion to 3D in post-production.

Coming Soon: Sucker Punch.

Warner Bros has released the trailer for Zach Snyder's new film Sucker Punch. The film was one of the most talked about movies at Comic Con this past weekend and from the trailer its easy to see why.

Official Plot Synopsis:

Sucker Punch is an epic action fantasy that takes us into the vivid imagination of a young girl whose dream world provides the ultimate escape from her darker reality. Unrestrained by the boundaries of time and place, she is free to go where her mind takes her, but her incredible adventures blur the lines between what’s real and what is imaginary…with potentially tragic consequences.

Sucker Punch hits theaters on March 25th 2011 starring Emily Browning, Abbie Cornish, Vanessa Hudgens, Jamie Chung, Jena Malone, Carla Gugino, Jon Hamm, Scott Glenn, Oscar Isaac .

I loved 300 and Watchmen so Zach doesn't look like he will let me down with this one.

The Roots – The Fire f. John Legend (Video)

Here’s the latest, Rik Cordero-helmed set of visuals off The Roots’ How I Got Over, now available.

Here’s what they say about the visuals, btw: “The Fire” chronicles a post-apocalyptic death march set in 1945 during the final stages of World War II in Europe. After a cataclysmic event renders the war futile, a paramilitary splinter group — led by a Kurtz-like figure known as The Commodore — forces the transfer of young men who will be used as labor…and food. The last survivor of the march receives a mysterious White Box which holds the key to survival.

Top 5 New Falls shows To Watch: Show 1 Nikita Cw Network

One of  my most anticipated shows this fall is the TV reboot of " Nikita" starring Maggie Q. Nikta is scheduled for Thursdays, in “Supernatural’s” old time slot after the network’s solid genre offering “The Vampire Diaries”.

Here’s the network’s official press release for “Nikita”, as well as confirmation that Maggie Q. will indeed be the star of the show despite some reports that she’ll be playing second fiddle to Lyndsy Fonseca as some outlets have reported. This is the first time as far as I know that an Asian actress will be fronting a major network TV Show.
When she was a deeply troubled teenager, Nikita was rescued from death row by a secret U.S. agency known only as Division, who faked her execution and told her she was being given a second chance to start a new life and serve her country. What they didn’t tell her was that she was being trained as a spy and assassin. Ultimately, Nikita was betrayed and her dreams shattered by the only people she thought she could trust.
Now, after three years in hiding, Nikita is seeking retribution and making it clear to her former bosses that she will stop at nothing to expose and destroy their covert operation. For the time being, however, Division continues to recruit and train other young people, erasing all evidence of their former lives and turning them into cold and efficient killers. One of these new recruits, Alex, is just beginning to understand what lies ahead for her and why the legendary Nikita made the desperate decision to run.
The series stars Maggie Q as Nikita, Lyndsy Fonseca as Alex, Shane West as Michael, Aaron Stanford as Birkhoff, Ashton Holmes as Thom, Tiffany Hines as Jaden, with Melinda Clarke as Amanda and Xander Berkeley as Percy. Nikita is from Warner Bros. Television in association with Wonderland Sound and Vision, with executive producers Craig Silverstein (“Bones,” “K-Ville”), Danny Cannon (“CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” “Chuck”), McG (“Supernatural,” “Chuck,” “The O.C.,” “Charlie’s Angels”), and Peter Johnson (“Supernatural,” “Chuck”). The pilot was directed by Danny Cannon.

Nikita starts Sept 9 on The CW

Weeknd Box Office – INCEPTION Stays on Top

Inception continued to dominate the box office in its second weekend, earning an estimated $43.5 million from its 3,792 locations. Angelina Jolie’s spy-thriller Salt placed second with an estimated $36.5 million, making this, arguably, the first week of the summer when two adult-skewing features have led the domestic box office.

Lionsgate has released a new trailer for Buried. The film received major buzz after premiering at this years Sundance Film festival. The film stars Ryan Reynolds as a man who finds himself waking up in a coffin that’s been buried six feet underground with no idea of who put him there and why.

Nickelodeon Greenlights The Legend of Korra

Nickelodeon has greenlit a new series from the creators of the hit animated TV show Avatar: The Last Airbender.

The Imagined new story is about this new Avatar. Not only is the new avatar only a girl, but also hot-headed, independent and ready to take on the world. She is a passionate, rebellious, and fearless teenage girl from the Southern Water Tribe named Korra. The Legend of Korra takes place 70 years after the events of Avatar: The Last Airbender and follows the adventures of the Avatar after Aang. With three of the four elements under her belt (Earth, Water, and Fire), Korra seeks to master the final element, Air. Her quest leads her to the epicenter of the modern "Avatar" world, Republic City – a metropolis that is fueled by steampunk technology. It is a virtual melting pot where benders and non-benders from all nations live and thrive. However, Korra discovers that Republic City is plagued by crime as well as a growing anti-bending revolution that threatens to rip it apart. Under the tutelage of Aang's son, Tenzin, Korra begins her air bending training while dealing with the dangers at large.

The Sequel to 300 Titled " XERXES " Is On Its Way

It’s official: Zack Synder, the director of “300,” is going back into battle on the side of the ancient Greeks — and Frank Miller. “We closed the writing deal on ‘Xerxes.’ We started writing about a week ago,” Snyder said, referring to his script work with “300″ collaborator Kurt Johnstad. “So we’re doing it. It’s happening.”

Snyder has a first-look deal with Warner Bros. and the presumption is that Snyder will direct this film, but that’s not a done deal yet.

“It’s really going to depend on what the studio wants to do and what we do when we finish; I don’t have a directing deal in place but we are writing it, so call it intent,” Snyder said with a chuckle when I visited his office the other day. “If there was a crime they could probably convict me.”

As for the story, Snyder says..

"This movie follows Themistocles and the Battle of Artemisium, which coincidentally happens on the exact same three days as the Battle of Thermopylae [which was the basis of '300']," Snyder said. "This one starts off with a quick retelling of the why of the Persian wars. It starts off at the Battle of Marathon and then it goes back to Themistocles finding out that Persians are invading again. and off we go over to learn a little bit about why Xerxes is the way he is. Darius [the Persian king and father of Xerxes] gets wounded at Marathon and he's super cool and like a great guy. Even the Greeks are like, 'Darius is awesome.' After Darius dies, Xerxes is so distraught, but Darius had told him, 'Don't attack the Greeks, only a god can punish the Greeks.' So that's when he calls his mystics and wizards and says, 'Make me a god so I can avenge my father.' "

Gotta love Snyder's dude speak! So, it sounds like it won't only be a prequel but also a simultaneous-quel! I may need to come up with a better word for that. Snyder also says that a cameo from Leonidas(Gerard Butlers character from 300) is a possibility.

Eminem  will post the first back-to-back Billboard Hot 100 chart-toppers of his career as “Love The Way You Lie,” featuring Rihanna, is set to hit No. 1 on the chart to be released tomorrow morning (July 22). The rapper debuted atop the Hot 100 in May with “Not Afraid,” the introductory single from his current  Billboard 200 chart-topper, “Recovery.”

Comic Con Posters For Thor and Captain America

Paramount and Marvel have just released new Comic-Con posters for Captain America: The First Avenger and Thor.  As you can see  it’s not your typical movie poster as it’s concept art rather than actors in costumes.

It’s always cool when the studios do things for the fans, and these posters definitely qualify.

Direct TV Saves Damages

DirecTV has reached a deal with Sony Pictures Television to acquire Damages from FX. Under the terms of the pact, DirecTV’s 101 network will air two additional seasons of the drama—each consisting of 10 episodes—beginning in 2011.

Unlike DirecTV’s arrangement with NBC for Friday Night LightsDamages will only air on DirecTV.
“We’re excited to partner with Sony Pictures Television as we breathe new life into this outstanding drama,” said Patty Ishimoto, general manager of The 101 Network and vice president of entertainment for DirecTV.  “It’s a win for our customers because only they will be able to see these new episodes and another great step forward for DirecTV as we continue to build our growing portfolio of exclusive, award winning programming.
Added FX president John Landgraf: “FX was very proud to have developed one of the best scripted series on television, but, in order to have a future, the show needed DIRECTV and we are thrilled they stepped in. Sony Pictures Television is a great production partner and we at FX Productions are excited for these next two seasons.”

TWO (!!!) ADDITIONAL SEASONS ? Another 20 episodes of Glenn Close’s divine portrayal of Patty AND the fantastic Rose Byrne ?
All right now, give me a DirecTV adresss so I can send them a proper gift basket. They deserve it.

Reel Review : Inception

PLOT: A corporate spy (Leonardo DiCaprio), who specializes in the art of “extraction”- where he can enter a persons dreams and steal secrets from their subconscious, is hired by a mysterious business mogul (Ken Watanabe) to carry out the near impossible task of “inception”. This means, rather than extract a thought, he has to plant one, in the mind of the son (Cillian Murphy) of a dying CEO.

David LaChapelle's New Roll

The name David LaChapelle may be synonymous with celebrity portraiture (he’s shot everyone from Lady Gaga to Hillary Rodham Clinton during his 30-year career), but, as the 47-year-old photographer proudly notes, his surname, French for “the chapel,” is Huguenot in origin. “It’s literally in my blood to question the church,” he says.

LaChapelle does exactly that in his latest exhibit, which opens today at Chelsea’s Paul Kasmin Gallery. Titled “American Jesus,” the show casts LaChapelle’s longtime friend Michael Jackson, shot just before his death last year in a series of iconic Biblical scenes. Another one of the photographer’s controversial pals, Naomi Campbell, makes a cameo as Botticelli’s Venus.

The Social Network Full Trailer

Thus far, I have been impressed with everything we have seen of the film, including the somewhat cryptic first two teaser trailers. Certainly on par with those, this trailer gives us our first look at live-action within the film, while maintaining the dark overtones established by the teasers via a piano-choir rendition of Radiohead’s “Creep.”

The Social Network hit theaters October 1

First Look At Ryan Reynolds As Green Lantern

EW provides a behind-the-scenes look at the making of next summer’s highly anticipated superhero movieGreen Lantern.

They also have an interview with Reynolds. Here is a teaser..

Ryan Reynolds stars as Hal Jordan, a cocky test pilot who becomes a ring-wearing intergalactic superhero in this massive sci-fi epic from director Martin Campbell (Casino Royale). Though Reynolds has prior experience in the superhero realm from his role as Deadpool in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, playing Green Lantern involved some major challenges, like getting hurled through the air on a wire at up to 60 feet per second to create the illusion of flight. “The first time you do it, you’re seriously considering an adult diaper,” Reynolds says. Still, he couldn’t resist the chance to play the beloved DC Comics hero, whose power ring can conjure virtually anything he can dream up. “Will and imagination are his superpowers,” Reynolds says. “We need a circus of Timothy Learys to think of things Hal would invent with his ring.”

Green Lantern will be released June 17, 2011 and as well as Reynolds, stars Blake Lively, Mark Strong, Peter Saarsgard, Tim Robbins, Temeura Morrison, and Angela Bassett.

I think it looks pretty neat myself and I trust Martin Campbell to make a badass movie.

Actor Mark Ruffalo May Be The New Hulk

Mark Ruffalopartially a director, producer, and screenwriter, is best known for his roles as Inspector 'David Toschi' in the 2007 film Zodiac and US Marshal 'Chuck Aule' in Shutter Island. The 42 year old is said to bring something great to the "Bruce Banner" role, like Edward Norton did, but apparently more amiable to work with.

If things work out, Ruffalo is expected to join Marvel Studios' big San Diego Comic-Con presentation, bringing Thor,Captain America, and The Avengerscast together, confirming this new 'Bruce Banner', and giving fans an inside look into future films.

Ruffalo would be joining be joining an great ensemble in The Avengers, including, Robert Downey Jr (Iron Man), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), Chris Evans (Captain America), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), and Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow) confirmed. And unconfirmed, Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Nathan Fillion (Ant-Man), and Eva Longoria (Wasp). With Joss Whedon's Directing, the film supposedly begins production in Manhattan, February 2011. And Earth Mightiest Heroes unite on the big screen May 4, 2012.

I think its a pretty interesting choice, I know lots of people are infuriated that Edward Norton was dropped, but Mark is a solid actor plus i think the Hulk will feature more than Bruce in the movie anyway.

Thor Goes 3D And New Still From The Movie

Director  Kenneth Branagh told the L.A. Times that he was initially hesitant to go 3-D on Thor because he felt it was all "math and physics" and way over his head, but he warmed to the idea:

"We came to feel that in our case 3-D could be the very good friend of story and character for a different kind of experience.

"It's another draft of the story that can reveal itself in a different way," he said. "I had a healthy degree of skepticism up front ... I've become somebody extremely excited about working with possibilities of doing it this way.

"A pretty careful conversation is what we've been having for quite some time about what we know has to be the most sensible decision: Is it led by story? Can this offer a different type of experience and exploit what we have in the story? It absolutely can ... we travel very long distances in the movie and the opportunity to export and exploit the journey of the hero is really offered up as a great potential enhancement here."

Thor stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Jaimie Alexander, Ray Stevenson, Rene Russo, Tadanobu Asano, Idris Elba and Sir Anthony Hopkins.

Thor opens May 6, 2011!

Whoopdy doo... More movies jumping on the 3D bandwagon. God damn you, Avatar. As for the pic they look interesting. I like the high-tech feel to it. However, I hope Loki gets a better costume.
