Glee: Season 3 already picked up by FOX, Gleeks rejoice

Fox has renewed "Glee" for a third season -- before Season 2 has even started filming. "Glee" is the No. 1 new series in the coveted adult demographic, so it's no surprise that Fox plans to keep it around, but it is a sign of the network's confidence in the show's ability to keep up the hype.

Peter Rice, the Fox Networks Group Entertainment Chairman, says, "In just one year, 'Glee' has transcended the television landscape and emerged as a global pop culture phenomenon,".

Fox Entertainment President Kevin Reilly, who was interrupted by Sue Sylvester herself on stage at the FOX Upfronts presentation on May 17, adds that "'Glee' has one of the most active, devoted fan bases I've ever seen, and we couldn't be more thrilled to give Gleeks a third season of their favorite show."

"Glee" executive producer Ryan Murphy says, "It's been a whirlwind year - from shooting the pilot to performing at the White House to the concert tour that began last week - and yet we all feel like we've just begun this amazing musical journey. We think our Gleeks worldwide are going to love what we'll have in store for them in seasons two and three."

Looks like Rachel, Finn, Kurt, Quinn and company have at least two more years of high school to look forward to. Bring on the slushies!
