I LOVED this episode. To me the best part was that they all seemed like actual friends. Dan just calling up Serena randomly and having a little chat. Dan showing up at Chuck and Nate's and him and Nate seeming like they've been in touch, no big deal. I can't describe it but something just felt right- maybe it was the pacing, or the direction? Another thing to me was that the actors didn't seem like they were phoning it in, but rather that they were enjoying the material. Everyone just seemed more alive.
Despite hating the Blair pregnancy in theory, I am enjoying how it is playing out onscreen. Interesting call back to the eating disorder, some nice continuity there. I liked Blair tonight, her coming to terms with the pregnancy, leaning on Dan, antics with Dorota. But Louis is still such a drip. Sooooooo boring. Beatrice I guess is going to try and cause trouble, which is cool, it's always good to have a bad guy (or girl).
Dan and Blair were really sweet. I am glad the nonsense from last week didn't drag out in some kind of fight between them. I like how he just forced the truth out of her, he definitely was looking out for everyone tonight.
Strangely, the highlight of the night for me were the Chuck/Dan scenes. Absolute gold. I loved that Chuck brought up Charlie Trout! Everything between them was just funny to me.
My biggest complaint- Blair's lipstick.
