90210 Season 3 Ep 13: It's Getting Hot In Here

So wow, Emily was completely on target regarding Annie's made up comments about her shallow friends, at least in terms of Adrianna. Honestly, Adrianna is just an awful person, and not in a fun way, but just in a "what horrible, selfish thing will she do next?" kind of way. I guess this is part of her downward spiral, and I was happy to see that she actually does still have a parent, but I have no clue where the writers are going with all this, particularly with this new wrinkle of trying to find her adopted out baby.

And seriously, is Emily supposed to be Single White Femaling Annie, like Annie suggested? Because what's the point? It isn't like Annie's life is one anyone would want anyways, what with the manslaughter conviction and all. And it was a little bit less this episode, now that her hair is darker, but the actress just resembles Kelly Taylor way too much, and it's really a distraction in all her scenes.

As for the rest, meh. So what if Debbie is sexing up Ryan? She's divorced, her kids are almost graduated and he isn't their teacher. And Navid and Silver are tiresome. It's not like this is the Summer of Deception and he's torn between two equally decent people. Adrianna's awful, and there's no reason to drag this out.

Henry Cavill Is Your New Superman

The Man Of Steel has been cast. Warner Bros and Legendary Pictures has officially announced that actor Henry Cavill will be Clark Kent/Superman in the upcoming film directed by Zach Snyder and produced by Christopher Nolan. Cavill best known for his work in Showtime's The Tudors already has a past with superheroes, he auditioned for the role of Batman but lost to Christian Bale and then auditioned for Superman but lost out to Brandon Routh so now the third times the charm.

Here is the official announcement.

HENRY CAVILL WILL TAKE ON THE DUAL ROLE OF CLARK KENT / SUPERMAN IN THE NEW FILM FROM WARNER BROS. PICTURES AND LEGENDARY PICTURES
BURBANK, CA, January 30, 2011 – Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures announced today that Henry Cavill has won the coveted role of Superman, the iconic superhero.
The film will be directed by Zack Snyder, who stated, “In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time, and I am honored to be a part of his return to the big screen.  I also join Warner Bros., Legendary and the producers in saying how excited we are about the casting of Henry.  He is the perfect choice to don the cape and S shield.”
Charles Roven, Emma Thomas, Christopher Nolan and Deborah Snyder are the producers of the film.  The screenplay is being written by David S. Goyer based on a story by Goyer and Nolan.  Thomas Tull and Lloyd Phillips are serving as executive producers.
Cavill recently wrapped production on “The Cold Light of Day” and stars in the upcoming “Immortals,” opening this fall.

JESSIE J – PRICE TAG (FT. B.O.B)

Jessie J is arguably the most buzzed about singer at the moment and with good reason. The powerhouse vocalist and songwriter from the UK is ready to make her American debut and what better way to do it than with a great catchy feel good tune with the equally great B.O.B. Jessie's second single Price Tag has a video and you can peep it below. Jessie J's debut album will debut in the US April 12th

Young Justice Season 1 Ep 4 : Drop Zone

Again, the team is trying to put itself together, but it's doing a better job of it.  Using M'Gann as a telepathic conduit (although it's very X-Men), is cleverly done and her flirting with Superboy while Kid Flash flirts with her is played well.

"No capes, no tights, no offense."- I laughed out loud at Superboy's quip, a callback to the primary rules of Smallville.  The writing on the show is sharp- the characters are all well drawn.  As noted in the episode, Robin IS the best choice for leader once he gains the skills- and it's apparent that although he is the most competent and has the most experience, he's not ready to lead.

The show draws a nice distinction between ability and competence.  These are able heros, but they aren't ready for prime time, and Young Justice displays both qualities without making the kids look stupid.  Able inexperience is very difficult to show- this show does it well.

Bane is finally played the way he should be.  Smart, a planner.  He's not very Venom'd up this time through which makes him much more Superboy's punching bag than he probably should be- but this characterization is much more in line with what I'd like to see Nolan do with the character in the next Batman flick.

Parks and Recreation Season 3 Ep 2 : The Flu

Last week, the writers and their "enjoyed every week" stuff won me over for the Chris character, and this week "stop pooping!" won me over for Rob Lowe. I can't say I've ever liked him much before and wasn't thrilled he was joining the show as a regular, but I'm sold now. My microchip has been compromised.

Sick Leslie Monster was so good, but I love that she pulled off a great speech too.

How on earth does a show become this charming and heartwarming, and still manage to work in the sentence "you had me at meat tornado"? Seriously, I just can't get over how much I love it
.

Community Season 2 Ep 13 : Celebrity Pharmacology 212

Chang plus Shirley plus Mix Tape plus Rainbow Afro Wig = Pure Happiness

Loved it. Loved everything about it. Anything to feature Chang more prominently as long as it keeps staying this funny. I thought this episode was very "Strangers With Candy", which is a wonderful thing in my book.

I hope the drug dealers out there are taking note: sparklers make everything more fun.

"Did you expect me to stay the same forever? Cause that's not what drug does, baby!"

There was also a moment when Troy and Abed were singing at the funeral and Donald Glover did a Mariah Carey hand wave, so subtle but just so funny.

The Vampire Diaries Season 2 Ep 12 : The Descent

Damon surprised me, not with the craziness or the drunkenness, but with the admission that his big secret is missing being human. I did *not* see that coming.

But, then, he gutted me about ten times this episode. I actually had to walk away and get a Kleenex after the Rose situation. Wow. Ouch. And, yeah, he just killed me tonight. Many times over. I just....gah....I could well up just thinking about it.

It may be just him and his emoting, but Rose did really grow on me this episode. I ached for her.

And Tyler and Caroline crackle. Yowza. I've got nothing against Matt, but the chemistry just isn't the same.

Jules, however? Irritates the living tar out of me. I don't care about anything that comes out of her mouth. She actually reduces my interest in the werwolves (whereas Tyler makes me think it's a worthwhile plot). I just want her gone. I can't even put my finger on why, but her condescending attitude and lies to Tyler sealed her fate for me.

The Game Season 4 Ep 3. The Wing King

Wow for a person who hated  The Sunbeams in the beginning , it was funny to see Melanie as the President.

Great to see Jazz and Javon still together in their sick twisted relationship lol. Jazz is a bit rough around the edges but it was great to see her put Melanie in her place and knock her down a peg or two.

Malik was back in rare form tonight after being the voice of reason for Derwin last week. It was nice to see his mom intervene and try to reason with him that he needs TT in his life. Malik is upset that TT has made a successful living without him and his lashing out clearly shows that. Good that he is getting a sort of comeuppance.

Line of the night of course go to Tasha Mack. " Girl we all got here the same way, by either using our coochies or pushing someone out the coochie ". That Tasha always the lone voice of reason.
