Well it's official Zack Snyder ( 300, Watchmen, Dawn Of The Dead ) has been chosen to direct the upcoming Man Of Steel , with Christopher Nolan producing. Snyder was on a list that also included Tony Scott ( Man On Fire ) , Matt Reeves ( Lost, Let Me In ), Jonathon Leisbman ( Battlefield Earth ), Duncan Jones ( Moon ), and Darren Aronsky ( The Wrestler ).
After the news broke Snyder has been bombarded by various press outlets here are some of the excepts.
On Discussing The Upcoming Movie With Christopher Nolan:
"It was really just talking about, in really sort of civilized and fun terms, who Superman was to us and what he could be. I think that those conversations felt free from the pressure of an 'audition' and felt more just talking about a character that we both liked. It was really, at that point, I was content if I was the one picked or not, that I had had a great visit. From a creative and fan point of view, I was satisfied, and that was cool."
On What He Thinks About The Script:
""All I'll say is that those guys — Chris and David — have created an amazing story. Everyone always says, 'Why Superman? Why is he relevant? Who is he now?' I think those guys have done an amazing job with that. That's the real trick."
On Whether They'll Go For A Big Name Actor Or Unknown:

"Other superheroes, "mainly male, have gotten to evolve over the years. Batman. The X-Men. But I think the first Superman movies were so well done, he kind of got stuck. I think our challenge is to bring him to a modern audience that's still respectful of the character."

Well I know there are going to be lots of opinions on this subject since this huuuuuge news. Snyder is one of my favorite directors but i'll admit I didn't want him for this job, not because he isn't capable but i fear that Snyder's style might be a Lil much for The Man Of Steel. But with Christopher Nolan overseeing this I have complete and utter faith that this project will be giving the care that one of if not the most iconic superhero of all time deserves.
