The Vampire Diaries Season 2 Ep 4 : Memory Lane

I love this show. It never lets up. Katherine was the best thing about this episode. She is seriously bad-ass. I like that she is not just crazy evil. She is extremely layered and you can see how GOOD she is in manipulating people, even 145+ years old vampires who KNOW  her treachery (as I think that is what she is doing with Stefan). Katherine being immune to vervain because she kept drinking it to become used to it so she never ever got taken by surprise? Hardcore. It is such little details that make her so scary. She feels almost invincible as she HAS done her best to become invincible... Which in turn makes one wonder who/what it is she was trying to run away from by faking her own death, for what/whoever got Katherine scared must be really really scary

Undercovers Season 1 Ep 2 : Instructions

This was definitely better than the pilot (which I really liked, too).  I loved the hints that Steven's past is really murky. I love Leo, but it's not so much that I find him more entertaining that the other characters in and of himself. It's more that I think this show works better when it slips into ensemble mode. Leo/Sam/Steven is fun. Sam/Steven/sycophanitc sidekick whose name I'm blanking on are fun. Sam/spy director/Steven are fun. I think the leads do a fine job  of holding up the show, but it's at its best when there are more people on the screen. 

Modern Family Season 2 Ep 2 : The Kiss

Perfect episode, perfect handling of the kiss situation. Funny and full of heart, and I love that the actual kiss was not in the forefront; I teared up when Jay put Manny to bed, kissed his hand, then put his hand on Manny's face. Even now I'm tearing up thinking about it.

A few months back Universal released a teaser trailer for the upcoming alien invasion flick Skyline, and today a full theatrical trailer has  arrived. Heather Morris is fucking awesome. I bow before her. More Brittany S. Pierce Please.

Loved snarky Santana's one liners as always.. I just love this character and I enjoyed that she brought the HBIC personality when needed yet also defended Brittany from Kurt's comments. She rocked the MATM video (her fake boobage was MIA by the way during that) and the runs at the end of Toxic. More please!

Desperate Housewives Season 7 Ep 1 : Remember Paul

That was surprisingly decent.

Renee is a watered down Wilhelmina, but she has nice chemistry with Lynette. Every time Lynette pointed out that she has five kids now, I kept waiting for her to remember that she's supposed to have six.

Paul/Felicia was so much better than Lynette/Renee. Probably because we've actually seen the former pair's history.

I couldn't be happier that Gablos has the baby switch story. Finally, they get a meaty story that's going to last more than two episodes. I like that they addressed clean-shaven Carlos, but I was hoping that Gaby would take one look and say, "WTF did you do?"

The less said about Susan, the better.

Bree tried to divorce Orson twice, and now she's upset because he's divorcing her? Whatever, at least he's gone.

It's Always Sunny Season 6 Ep 2: Dennis Get Divorced

Not a classic, but still a solid ep thanks to Charlie's uncle just killing every single line.

Given the horrific fates of those who usually interact with the gang I think the Ponderosas actually got off VERY easy and really ended up "winning" for the most part. That being said, I'm really hoping Dee's baby isn't a result of the Ponderosa thing. I've seen enough of them.

Everything I have a pair of is crossed still hoping that Charlie somehow ends up being the father of Dee's baby.

Community Season 2 Ep1: Anthropology 101

Loved, loved, loved the A Different World inspired opening. 


That was a pretty tight episode overall. I'm a little over the Betty White thing at this point (overexposed much?), but I didn't feel like she was being shoved in my face in a "LOOK HOW AWESOME BETTY WHITE IS!!!!" sort of way like she has been all over the place lately. So it's all good. Loved the rap with singing "Africa" at the end. 

The Vampire Diaries Season 2 Ep 3: Bad Moon Rising

What a great episode. Finally this werewolf thing is moving somewhere! And I'm calling it now - it may be the Winter break, it may be the season finale but I'm laying bets that Caroline, Damon, or Stefan WILL be bitten by a werewolf at some point. I've watched too many shows not to know an anvil when I see it.

Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes Second Micro-Episode with The Incredible Hulk

Yesterday saw the release of the first Marvel Micro episode with Iron Man and today's release is with The Incredible Hulk. The episode is entitled The Coming Of The Hulk which features our favorite green hero facing off against Absorbing Man.

Scream 4 Behind The Scenes

The good folks over at Entertainment Tonight got an exclusive behind the scenes look at the upcoming sequel in the Scream franchise.

The movie being released in April brings back the core characters of the first three films, while also introducing a new batch of potential victims/killers. in the mix.

Director Wes Craven also recently tweeted that the film has wrapped production, so hopefully we can get a full fledge trailer in November/December maybe.

Mtv has released the first glimpse at DC's Animated next feature All Star Superman. The movie is based on what is considered one of the greatest Superman stories ever told written by the great Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely.


"All-Star" is the 10th DC Comics story line to be turned into an original PG-13 movie by Warner Premiere, DC Entertainment, Warner Bros. Animation and Warner Home Video. The comic mini-series has won three Eisner Awards, two Harvey Awards and three Eagle Awards. Written by Grant Morrison and drawn by Frank Quitely, the story begins with the Man of Steel (Denton) oversaturated by radiation during a rescue mission near the sun, accelerating the degeneration of his cells. Knowing that he has a limited time before he dies, Superman sets out on a journey that sees him revealing his secret to Lois Lane (Hendricks), giving Lex Luthor (LaPaglia) an epiphany on humanity and ensuring the safety of Earth for when he is gone. . . .

Bruce Timm is exec producing, and Sam Liu, who helmed the DC animated film "Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths," is directing. Dwayne McDuffie, a comics scribe who also penned "Crisis on Two Earths," wrote the script.

Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes First Micro-Episode with Iron Man

In conjunction with the new animated series Avengers : Earth's Mightiest Heroes, Marvel is introducing micro episodes with some of the show's characters. The first episode has been released and it features Iron Man fighting off the attacks of the villainous organization known as Hydra.

 

There will be daily microsodes leading up to the October 20th debut of the show on the Disney XD channel.

Glee Season 2 Ep 1 : The Audition

Not a great season premiere in my opinion. There were things I liked, and the new characters seem fine, but it just didn't get me very excited and make me want to watch it over and over, which is my response to really good Gleeepisodes.


Brittany and Santana were made of pure win. Best line of the episode: Brittany in the background of the catfight saying "Stop the violence and Brittany  hugging that doll on her way out. Heather Morris really knows how to sneak in those little moments.

Santana and Quinn's fight was pretty epic. Great work you two. 

Next weeks episode looks awesome!

Gossip Girl Season 2 Ep 2 : Double Identity

Overall, great episode. Safe to say Season 4 is starting a little bit like Season 2 started (ie. very good).

Weekend Box Office : The Town Is # 1

Ben Affleck has a box office hit. His second directorial film after Gone Baby Gone was the number one movie this weekend taking in an estimated 23.8 million dollars. The movie has been getting excellent reviews and looks to be a sure bet in the Oscar race.

Easy A , the second new release this weekend landed in the second spot with 18 million. The film which is also getting great critical praise and good word of mouth is well on it's way to becoming a hit for Sony/Screen Gems.

Well looks like someone's mistake is another's gain. Out of nowhere a new Rihanna single and video appeared entitled Who's That Chick. The song is a cute catchy fun pop concoction but I'm glad this isn't going to be a second single, I know Rih can do better than this.

It's Alkways Sunny Season 6 Ep 1 Mac Fights Gay Marriage

Great start to the season! Dennis and his lack of feelings was the funniest thing about this episode to me, but I loved it all. I always enjoy it when Mac gets to be the crazy one; he's just so stupidly earnest.

Dee's reaction to seeing Bill Ponderosa cracked me up. "Take care of yourself...or whatever people say."

The Vampire Diaries Season 2 Ep 2 Brave New World

Another excellent episode. Caroline's transformation was terrifying and heartbreaking all at once. Poor baby. I hadn't thought much of Candice Accola's acting so far, but she did a superb job illustrating Caroline's fear, disgust, grief, and acceptance with little more than the look on her face. Girl has damn expressive eyes. Everything Caroline was thinking or feeling was summed up in those trembling, terrified eyes.

First Look: Voltron Concept Art

Voltron Defender Of The Universe, the latest in a long line of 80s cartoons being developed for the big screen has been talked about for years but now it looks like those talks are transpiring into something more. This morning the good folks at Joblo.Com unveiled some concept art for a possible Voltron movie. The movie is being shopped around to different studios and writers Thomas Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer are helming the script. These names might be foreign but they are writing the current Conan movie along with Dr Strange and Uncharted: Drake's Fortune.

The Fighter is a true story based on Irish boxer Micky Ward and his brother Dicky. The film directed by David O Russell stars Mark Walhberg, Christian Bale, Amy Adams, and Melissa Leo. The trailer does an amazing job of capturing the spirit and tone of the film, and with a top notch cast I'm betting it will garner a good amount of Oscar buzz

Superman/Batman Apocalypse Movie

Plot :After a spaceship splashes down in Gotham City Harbor, Batman and Superman encounter a mysterious Kryptonian with powers as great as those of the Man of Steel. The Kryptonian is soon revealed to be Kara, cousin of Superman, who takes her under his wing to educate her about the ways of Earth. However, the villainous Darkseid has other plans. Seeing an opportunity to finally defeat Superman, Darkseid abducts and gains control of Kara, utilizing the powerful Kryptonian to do his bidding. It’s up to Batman and Superman to save Kara, but they’ll have to take the fight to Darkseid within his hostile world – where unknown, deadly threats lurk around every corner, including a brainwashed Kryptonian able to match Superman blow-for-blow.
