Coming Soon : Richard Pryor Bio-Pic (Marlon Wayans)

Comic legend Richard Pryor has inspired legions of comedians and now he’s inspiring a big-screen movie.
Pryor’s life will be turned into a biopic produced by Chris Rock and Adam Sandler and starring Marlon Wayans. “Richard Pryor: Is It Something I Said?”will tell Pryor’s story from his childhood at his grandmother’s Peoria, Illinois, brothel to his rise on the comedy scene to his struggle with drug addiction.
Eddie Murphy, who co-starred with the groundbreaking comedian in 1989’s “Harlem Nights,” was originally attached to the project, but reportedly passed because of “creative differences.” Meanwhile, Pryor, who died in 2005 at age 65, had selected “The Hangover” star Mike Epps as his personal choice. But Rock, 45, says it was “Scary Movie” and “G.I. Joe” funny guy Wayans who was born to play the role.
"Marlon Wayans, he did a screen test and it was just unbelievable," Rock told MTV News. "It's not just doing the comedy of Richard Pryor. He captures the vulnerability of Richard Pryor."
Bill Condon will direct the film – once he’s finished working on the two-part “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn” – and Sandler, 43, says shooting will begin “hopefully, soon. It’s all being worked on.”
In the meantime, Wayans, 37, is confident he will make Pryor proud. "You need to be lucky in life, but it's also what you do with your luck," he told the L.A. Times. "I'm ready."

As much as people think Mike Epps should have played Richard, I think Marlon is a great choice . Marlon has some serious acting chops so i think he can bring the funny and serious that this movie needs.

First Conan Promotional Image

The official plot of Conan (working title) has not been released yet, but it has been revealed that Conan seeks revenge against the evil warlord Khalar Singh (Stephen Lang) and his henchman, Ukafa (Bob "The Beast" Sapp), for the destruction of his village and the murder of his father, Corin (Ron Perlman). The movie also stars Leo Howard, Rachel Nichols and Rose McGowan.

Conan is currently in post-production, scheduled for release in 2011.

A bit skinny but I'll definitely be seeing this.

The Boondocks Season 3 Ep 10 " The Story Of Lando Freeman"

This ep was a doozy, featuring Huey kicking Riley's ass twice, Steve Wilcox being obnoxious, the return of Samuel L. Jackson as Rummy . . . oh, and Lando, the illegitimate son Robert never knew he had. Fun shit, even with Ruckus being Ruckus. Also, there's a last minute cameo, but I won't spill on who it is. Good times all around.

Weekend Box Office – THE TWILIGHT SAGA ECLIPSE Total Climbs to $161 Million; THE LAST AIRBENDER Solid In Second

The Twilight Saga Eclipse movie image Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson slice
It looks like Summit’s hopes of breaking additional records with the third chapter in their Twilight Saga are not to be. Eclipse will just have to settle for the records they broke on Wednesday and, of course, with its bucket loads of cash. The film fell off by 16% on Saturday, effectively ending its quest to topple Spider-Man 2 as the all-time Fourth of July champ. At this point estimates giveEclipse a gross of $161 million over its first five days and $69 million for the traditional Friday-Sunday weekend frame. Monday should bring Eclipse’s six-day total to $176 million – $4 million short of that record. Meanwhile, The Last Airbender was also down, though its 13% Saturday drop was not as steep as its 8% Rotten Tomatoes rank suggested. Airbender now looks like it will come in above expectations – with $65 million in total projected through Monday. We’ll have full box office results tomorrow, but for now here is the weekend’s top ten:
TitleWeekendTotal
1Twilight Saga: Eclipse$69,000,000$161
2The Last Airbender$40,650,000$57
3Toy Story 3$30,174,000$289
4Grown Ups$18,500,000$77
5Knight & Day$10,200,000$45.5
6Karate Kid$8,000,000$151.5
7The A-Team$3,025,000$69.1

Coming Soon : Let Me In

Let Me In is written and directed by Matt Reeves, who's feature directorial debut was J.J. Abrams' Cloverfield. This is a remake of Tomas Alfredson's 2008 film Let the Right One In, but more specifically a re-adaptation of the Swedish novel Låt den rätte komma by John Ajvide Lindqvist. Overture Films is bringing Let Me In to theaters October 1st. There is a prequel graphic novel in the works too.

I cherish the original film and after seeing this trailer I'll give Matt Reeves the benefit of a doubt. If anyone didn't know, the original film based on the novel of the same name left a lot of things out from the book. This is a remake, it is likely they'll add in the elements that weren't brought up in the original onto this, especially since it has an R-rating. This trailer has me sold.

Judd Apatow jumps aboard as producer on new Pee-wee Herman film

According to Variety, after catching Reubens in his live show comedy god Judd Apatow was evidently impressed enough to start development on an untitled Pee-wee Herman feature for Universal. Apatow will serve as producer on the film while Reubens and actor/writer Paul Rust (INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS, "Human Giant") will tackle the story which Variety describes as "a road pic built around 'a gigantic adventure.'"

"Let's face it, the world needs more Pee-wee Herman," Apatow tells Variety. "I am so excited to be working with Paul Reubens who is an extraordinary and groundbreaking actor and writer. It's so great to watch him return with such relevance."

Reubens adds, "There is no one like Judd in our business -- he loves comedy with emotion and heart, and he sees what we do as art. I can't believe I'm getting this opportunity to be working with him."

The next obvious question then becomes, "Who will direct?" Could it be someone from Apatow's stable? Or maybe even Tim Burton, returning to the character he first cut his cinematic teeth with? As a fan of Herman (and especially PEE-WEE'S BIG ADVENTURE), I'm excited to see where this one goes. It's already on the right track.
